About this tournament
For Clarification purposes.. I'd like to add that this event is not just for collegiate athletes! It is for everyone and the collegiate formal is simply just a lot of fun, it in no ways is a limiter of who can play!
This event gives you two opportunities to play in the mens Collegiate disc golf format, both round 1 and 2 this year will be in alternating best shot format!
Partial proceeds from this event will go to supporting the disc golf program at Trinity Western University.
This event follow the collegiate format of alternating best shot that is used in collegiate events for both rounds.
Alternating best shot works like this:
player 1 and player 3 tee off on all of the even holes while player 2 and 4 tee off of all of the odd holes and the team will chose the drive that they decide is best. After the first pair (either 1 and 3, or 2 and 4) have teed off, the second shot is the other pair. Each consecutive shot will alternate between pairs in your team.
Player 1 and 3 do not have to tee on even holes, this is just an example, but each hole and each shot must alternate pairs within your team.
There will be three Divisions of 12 teams each:
Tier 1 :Open Play - long teepads
Tier 2: Team average rating below 930: only one player rated over 950 and no player
over 975 permitted - long teepads
Tier 3: Team average rating below 850: only one player rated above 900 and no player
over 925 - short teepads
Prizes will be awarded to the first place teams in each Division. Additional prizes will be awarded through a random draw.
The purpose is to play a new course, a new format, to support college disc golf as well as the team at TWU, and of course, to have a lot of fun.
If everyone on your team goes to the same university, email me at [email redacted] for an early registration code and let us know what school you are representing!
