About this tournament

Welcome to the 53rd American Flying Disc Open
We extend our gratitude and thanks to Jim Palmeri for originally running this tournament in 1974 which was the first competitive disc golf tournament ever held.
This year's B-tier event will take place over two days for all divisions Saturday August 22 - Sunday August 23 with a minimum of $1000 added cash
Total Rounds - 2 rounds over 2 days - tee times by division each day
PAYOUTS / FEE SCHEDULE:
-$ ALL Open divisions. We will pay out the top 40% via PayPal to your registration email within 48 hours of the event's completion.
- All Junior divisions will be trophy only
-$19 of each entry will go toward the following fees $5 GRDG, $10 course fees/bathrooms + $4 PDGA fees.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACK:
All Am Players will receive cooler bag from Soar Disc Golf
COURSES OF PLAY:
Saturday - Parma Town Park
Sunday - Shadow Pines
Tee Pad Assignments in the pictures - all divisions will be playing a hybrid layout (combination of tees/baskets) that will be posted on Udisc prior to the event so people can practice.
The PDGA has clear guidance for how a TD can choose to handle ratings updates, and we choose to leverage that. Specifically, the PDGA states "If you have pre-registered for an event, the TD may allow you to remain in that division as long as the event is within two weeks of the ratings posting date". Our event is August 22-23, and the August ratings update is June 9th (well within that two week timeframe). As such, we will be using the July Ratings Update as the effective rating for all players for the event. That means, whatever your rating is when the ratings update on Tuesday, July 14th will be what we use to determine division eligibility.
" what do I do if my rating increases and I no longer can play in the division I registered for?"
We have intentionally left 3 open spots in the Am division to allow for such movement. On Tuesday, July 12th, we will review the event roster and contact any player whose rating would force them into a different division to present them with their options (whether it be a different am division or aged protected division). Once all of those adjustments are completed, we will then open whatever spots remain to the waitlist. That means if you are on the waitlist, you should see some considerable movement by July 14th
