About this tournament
1 round of play
YOU WILL RECIEVE RATINGS FOR THIS EVENT!!!!
And there will be CAKE! The cap was changed to 90 and there will be 5 players per card.
You are invited to a celebration with Allen Risley. Allen played in his first disc golf tournament in 1978 and ran his first PDGA-sanctioned event in 1984 in Tallahassee, FL. With the help of his friends, he has run a wide range of disc golf events, from local monthlies to C-B-A tiers and DGPT Silver Series at Goat Hill. He has developed or co-developed many of the courses we play in San Diego, including The Welk. And along with his good friend Bill Maury-Holmes, he co-instigated the Golden Sombrero charity series. On this day, he would like to share birthday cake with you!
This is a PDGA True Amateur event, with trophies awarded to the winner of each division and no Amateur prize payout. There will be modest Pro payout. It is an XC-Tier sanctioned charity event with proceeds going to The North County Food Bank.
All players will receive one 18-hole round at The Welk course with hot dogs, chips and soda following the round. Amateur players will receive a Golden Sombrero Series Innova disc. As this is a charity event there will be a raffle with tickets at $1 each or 25 for $20.
Divisions playing "Paver Tees" - MP40, MP50, MA1, MA40, MA50, MA2
Divisions playing "Front/Grass Tees" - FPO, FP60, FA40, FA50, MA60, FA60, MA70, MA3, MA4, FA4
The "Front/Grass" tees are at the front of the grass golf tees. On Saturday they will be marked by paint dots and pink flags. Approximate locations are displayed on the "Front/Grass" layout on UDisc and are nearly the same as the soccer golf white ball markers (except for holes that play across the "creek", 6, 8, 9,15). These tees will allow players in the included divisions to have better chances at scoring birdies.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If a division does not have four or more players registered, the tournament director reserves the right to consolidate divisions. You will be contacted if this impacts you. Junior divisions can be added upon request. Volunteers that have helped Allen with events will be given an early entry code for 1 player.
And of course, there will be cake! "Most Fun Wins!"
