I doubt that's the reason. Pro divisions are already the most expensive, and I would be willing (as I'm sure other pros would) to pay even higher registration fees. There is no amount of money I could give to ensure that I can play, unfortunately. I suppose I should have just signed up for MA1. At least then I would get to play.

That's not really my point. I agree that I could have signed up earlier and would (probably) have gotten a spot. I didn't. That's my fault. I own that. But even if I had, someone else in MPO would have been wait-listed. I also don't contend that there is higher demand for Am spots than Pro spots. That's clearly evident. My only point is that, at the time that caps were raised from 40-something players to 80, there was at least one (possibly 2) MPO players on the wait-list (which is demand, by the way), who were not added to the event, but instead forced to stay on the wait-list in favor of amateur players, whom I believe had not yet signed up. So if your argument is that I should have signed up earlier (and I agree with you), shouldn't the same reasoning apply to amateurs who had not yet signed up?

Alex you are correct it was a copy & a paste, because until 2025 the way Jeff & I chose to set up & run our events hasn't been an issue. Let's call it for what it is & stop beating the around the bush, it's an issue now because you & a couple others are/were upset that you're on a WL for an event that's a month away. We're pretending people won't drop out allowing spots to open or that we won't do what’s best for the event & potentially add additional spots to select divisions to balance pace of play as we've done in the past. Supply & demand is a part of it. Plus we try to keep the number of players in each division divisible by 4 to keep making groups as easy as possible to optimize the amount of available space in the event. We’re fortunate to have 21 holes on this course, imagine if there was only 18 holes that’s 12 less total players right off rip. Outside of tee times or flex starts fields need to be limited & not everyone will be able to play unfortunately. The PDGA doesn't particularly like mixing divisions to make cards & especially mixing between amateur & Pro divisions. So why would Jeff & I want to make that more difficult on ourselves by allowing an odd number of players into any specific division?
These are all my own opinions & thoughts but to be frank, we've been doing this a long time. I think this is year 8 of us volunteering A LOT of our free time to set up & run these events. Anyone on the WL who doesn’t get into the event will receive a full refund less any DGS fees. As the event nears any open spots from other divisions will be made available for divisions with WL players. Also, WLs should be by division rather than 1 giant WL. No. The new rule only applies to women's division requirements. If mixed divisions are offered at an event, Tournament Directors must offer the corresponding women's division (e.g., if MA40 is offered, FA40 must also be offered). Split-day events count as a single event for the purposes of this provision. After one week of early registration as detailed in Competition Manual 1.02.C.2.c or one week of open registration, the TD may cease offering the division as long as Competition Manual 2.02.L permits it.
