The Grove City Rotary would like to invite you to participate in the 4th annual Grove City Rotary Disc Golf Tournament!
- This is a fundraiser? Where will my money go?
Registration pays for your entry to the event, as well as lunch and a commemorative t-shirt.
In 2022 and 2023, this event sponsored the installation of concrete tee pads at Memorial Park Disc Golf Course. This year we are excited to be sponsoring the installation of concrete tee pads at Hunter Farm Disc Golf Course; the Grove City disc golf community's most requested course feature!
100% of the proceeds from this event will go toward the tee pads, so help us spread the word!
- How will the event be played?
This is an unsanctioned event, but it is still competitive. Thus, we will be following the official PDGA rules of play as a guideline. We will be playing the 18-hole layout at Grove City Memorial Park.
That being said, in the spirit of not taking the rules too seriously, there will be several interesting challenges on certain holes throughout the course that you will need to navigate!
In addition, this year there will be optional CTP and Ace pots. If you’re unfamiliar, feel free to ask me (Wayne) more about it at check-in! These can be opted into when registering online, or in person on the day of the event. All players will pay into the same CTP pot, and so we will ensure that all players have a shot at winning it.
All of these details and more, such as how to keep score and locations of out-of-bounds areas will be included in the event handbook, which will be provided to you closer to the date of the event.
- What do I get if I win?
A full decision on prizing is still in the works, but 1st place in each division will most likely receive a high-quality disc.
If you win the CTP, you will receive 80% of the CTP pot.
If an ace is scored by a player who paid into the ace pot, that player will receive the entire ace pot. If multiple players score an ace, those who paid into the ace pot will split it evenly between them.
If no ace is scored, all players who paid into the ace pot will compete in a CTP throw-off after the event. The winner of this throw-off will be awarded 50% of the ace pot, with the remainder going toward the fundraising goals of the event.
- What division should I play in?
Advanced
If your ability is beyond the definitions laid out for the intermediate division, you should play in the advanced division.
Intermediate
The mid-level division. If you can throw 200 feet with accuracy or make 5 out of 10 putts from 15 feet, this is the division for you. If you play sanctioned tournaments in FA3, MA4, FA4, low FA2, or low MA3, this is the division for you.
Novice
If your ability is below the definitions laid out for the intermediate division, you should play in this division. If you’re new to disc golf and/or unsure of your ability, this is probably the division you should choose.
