The 2025 Greater Houston Disc Golf Championships will serve as something far greater than just a competition.
Just last year the world lost one of its most astounding, giving and loving friends, David Hemmeline. In celebration of his memory we have chosen to dedicate henceforth the event as the "David Hemmeline Memorial - Greater Houston Disc Golf Championships"
I met Dave in 2009ish and we became great friends very quickly. We shared a love for nature, disc golf and we both were on a spiritual quest. I don't tend to bond that deeply, that quickly with many people, funny thing about David....he does. It turns out that he was a special person with bonds to most that he met. We can say with certainty, "to know Hemmy was to love Hemmy", and you can add to that, he loved people too.
While shocking and heartbreaking, his passing brought out the good in people. Stories were shared and hugs were had on his behalf. We all tried to be a little more like Hemmy, for a few days at least.
The Hemmy Memorial will now honor and cherish the things that epitomized Dave. It is our hopes this will carry on indefinitely.
MEMORIAL / PLAYERS PARTY
For 2025, we are securing a venue to host a memorial / players party on Sat 10/25 in honor of David. We will provide a casual opportunity to share memories and stories of our great friend.
PLAYERS PARTY-
Spring Country Club (formerly Spring Valley)
Dec 20th 5:30-8pm
We will share memories and stories of David beginning at 6:30pm SHARP.
Please feel free to come and share your Hemmy experiences!!

FORMAT-
2 rounds on SHOTGUN START at Mcdade Sunday Dec 21st
limited to 71 players !!!
- $750 added cash to pro divs (split according to PDGA guidelines)
- All Ams get (1) Innova Custom "Hemmy" stamped disc in premium plastic at ZERO DEDUCTION FROM ENTRY !!
FINANCE-
- $3 PDGA fee
- $2 to charity
- $4 parks and facility fees
- THE REST TO PAYOUTS !!!!
