Not an official answer: Trust, but verify. Never rely on tech alone. Keep at least one paper card for your group. Like when mountaineering: avalanche beacon, cell phone, and GPS, but also have a compass and map, and know how to use them.... Sailing: compass, map, sextant, wristwatch.... :D

Everyone plays the genius (10E) from the top. The usual par 4, 585 ft. The new am tee you saw will actually be the drop zone. And it will be the future new am tee. The genius hole is scheduled to be a permanent hole next year.

Thanks for the link. As always, the ams are playing the am tees on Saturday. Pros and MA1 play the pro tees on Sunday. This year's layout is almost identical to last year's, and many years, with one notable exception. Last year's hole 4E is not in play this year. It's being replaced with a new hole that is between last year's 7E and 8E. Basket is not in yet, but it's flagged at 220 ft from the new tee in the woods. I'll post a course map here. The east course hole numbers are going to be different than we're used to. As of this past weekend, all pin positions are set where they will be for the tournament. Pins are mostly short pins, many are different than BSF pins. I designed this layout for the Hab/Rec in 2002. The BSF moved over to Milo from Dabney in order to play this layout. Then all the pros came, and we all call it the BSF layout. The BSF has only used the pro layout. The Hab/Rec has always used both am layout and pro layout, for different divisions.

Saturday is short tees, for certain Amateur and Age Protected Divisions, and Sunday is a separate tournament, for the other divisions, played from long tees. You could theoretically sign up for both: Iron Man!
