About this tournament
A Certified Rules Official is a current PDGA member who has passed the PDGA Certified Rules Official Exam (https://www.pdga.com/rules/exam) and registered as an official with the PDGA. If you are a Certified Rules Official, it will be noted on your Player Profile page along with your certification's expiration date.
There is a strict minimum of three (3) players per division. Suppose you are registered for a division with fewer than three (3) players when registration closes. In that case, you will be asked to move to another division for which you are eligible or receive a full monetary refund of your entry fee (Competition Manual 1.03.H and 2.02.L).
Participants are subject to all eligibility requirements per Competition Manual 1.01, Competition Manual 5.05.A (PDGA Tour Standards), and the PDGA Policy on Eligibility for Gender-Based Divisions.
For Majors and Elite Series during the 2026 tour year, FPO participants must be rated at least 800. (Competition Manual 4.02.B)
Should an intervening ratings update make a player ineligible for their registered division, they may choose whether to move to a division for which they are eligible or receive a full monetary refund of their entry fee after the July 14th rating update. Moving divisions may result in the player being on a waitlist.
All participants must be ID Verified by the PDGA. This is a one time process. You can get your verification at check-in or skip the line and do it here:
https://www.pdga.com/policy/identity-verification
All players for the FJ08 division must turn 8 years old on their birthday in 2026 to be eligible to play.
In order to receive Pro payout for this event, players must be registered with Payment Labs, our payment processor. An email with registration instructions from Payment Labs will be sent for the USWDGC in May. If you have already registered with Payment Labs, no action is required.
All PDGA Amateur Majors are True Amateur Events. True Amateur events present only trophies to the tournament's top finishers, and all players receive equal value through player packs and other tournament amenities (Competition Manual 2.06).
Four berths in FPO are set aside for PDGA Reserved Berths assigned by the PDGA if necessary. If not assigned, they will be released to the waitlist on 4/20/2026.
Pass Through Fees
$30 of every entry will go to the facility to cover the cost of site rental and rental of items on-site, such as player tents and porta-potties.
$10 of every entry is non-refundable to the PDGA
$5 of every entry is for the ace pool.

Temperature, Altitude & Terrain
The average high temperature in July in Salt Lake City is 32 Celsius and 90 Fahrenheit. We will do our best to schedule the age protected divisions in the morning. We are stressing the importance of good hydration for all players. We will be providing water during practice rounds and will be including hydration supplements in the players packs. We will be distributing more information on heat exhaustion and heat stroke as the event approaches.
The courses in the Salt Lake Valley are around 4,200 feet above sea level. The A pool will be playing at Brighton Resort, which has an elevation of 9,000 feet above sea level. Players should prepare for the high elevation by being in good cardiovascular condition and by being mindful of good hydration practices on and off the course. We will be distributing information on altitude sickness as the event gets closer.
Roots, Creekside Park, and Dragonfly are all relatively flat, park courses that are generally cart friendly. Brighton is a mountain course with safe but varying terrain. We do not recommend the use of carts at Brighton. The A pool will be riding the chairlift to hole 1 at Brighton Resort. The lift ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Players will need to factor this transport time into their preparations to make their respective tee time.
Pets in Big Cottonwood Canyon
Brighton Resort is located in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Big Cottonwood Canyon is inside of a protected water shed area. Simply stated, it is where the Salt Lake Valley gets its fresh water supply. Dogs and other domesticated animals are not permitted in Big Cottonwood Canyon by city ordinance. This prohibition includes dogs in vehicles. We will be sending a list of potential pet boarding options in the area to those interested. More information on this policy can be found by clicking this link: https://cottonwoodcanyons.org/stewardship/watershed/
Spectating at Brighton Resort
There will be free spectating on holes 17 & 18 at Brighton. All other holes will need to be accessed by riding the Majestic Chairlift. A pool players and their caddies will receive unlimited lift access for the week. Players in other divisions can purchase lift day passes for a reduced rate of $15 per day ($25 for the general public). Players will be able to purchase a VIP pass for the reduced rate of $100 ($200 for the general public). The VIP pass will include an event stool, special VIP disc, VIP parking, a VIP cooler, and access to a few VIP areas on the course.
