About this tournament
1 round of play
Doomsday Discs is a disc golf brand that was created with your survival in mind. Make no mistake, when the end of modern society comes, there’s nothing we can do to help you. But you can help yourself by throwing excellent discs while civilization still stands and building a stockpile of premium plastic for the end of times. When there’s nothing left to do but pass the time dodging land mines, scavenging for food and throwing discs through incredible dystopian landscapes, you’ll be glad that you have prepared with a great collection of top-quality discs. In all seriousness, these events are perfect events for casual players and experienced players alike, as we strive to keep pricing as friendly as possible and to maintain a fun & casual (yet rule-abiding) environment. Because we had such a strong female turnout last year, we've added a women's division this year! Help us spread the word!
For this event, you will use ONLY the discs from your player's pack. Your survival tools this year will start with the Psyop driver in the gorgeous Retina plastic. At 9/4/-3/2, it's a bomber for those still working on ramping up their technique, or a controlled turnover bomber for those with more experience. For your mid-range, you'll have the neutral Despair (5/4/-1/1) in Shockwave plastic which definitely adds a touch of stability. Finally, you'll (most likely) complete your missions with the Cyber Putter (3/3/0/2). To quote Doomsday, "It works great as a beaded, moderately overstable putter that flies perfectly for confident spin-putt throwers or as a stable approach disc. It may look freakish at first glance, but at the second glance you'll confirm that it is definitely freakish."
We are again offering an optional add-on disc, which you may use for the event if you opt in. This year, it's the Area 51 Approach disc (4/3/0/2.5) in the new "Bologna" plastic, so-named because it is a VERY soft plastic blend, not unlike the slice of bologna you fried on a car hood for lunch yesterday. There will not be enough for everyone.... secure yours early!
Photos of all discs will be posted shortly under the "Pictures" header. Check back!
Because we had such a great female turnout last year, we've added a women's division this year. There will be numerous CTPs, including division protected, as well as a 50/50 hole for those who buy in. Following the event, we will post the scores here in the results section within 2 days after the event (but will probably be that night). We will post CTP winners in the comments, and we'll begin reaching out to the winners to arrange meet-ups for prizes via text, FB Messaging, and/or e-mail.
