Hey all,

Sorry for the late note but I just got back from Trinidad and stopped off at Widefield to look at the flooding on hole 3. That hole is not going to be playable for most players so I am changing it to a temp tee from the barbecue area playing back to 3s short basket.

Play hole 2, and then take the sidewalk towards the pavilion. There will be 2 orange flags on the sidewalk, that is where you will tee from.

Sidewalk left is OB, creek and beyond is OB. Little 180 foot touch shot and no feetsies should get wet.

Check in will be between 7:30am and 8:30am near hole 1. You must check in before heading to your starting hole, otherwise you will be removed from the event.

Round 1 start time will be 8:45am. For those far away, you may not be able to hear the start, so please begin at 8:45 unless you get an email or note from me advising otherwise.

Lunch will be 1 hour after last card is submitted, and I will send out an email regarding 2nd round start time and starting holes.

One course note is that the creek has run high on hole 3 and caused that floodplain to flood. I'll flag the marsh area as casual relief, and discs that land in the marsh can go to the drop zone with no penalty.

If your disc lands in the creek, it is still OB and you will take a stroke penalty. You can elect to take it where it was last inbounds or go to the drop zone.

I am going to make the difficult call to postpone tomorrow's event to August 17th, 2024.
This does not come lightly, and I apologize for such late notice.

I was really hoping against hope that we would start to see a favorable forecast come around but given that it is solidified that we are going to see 40+ mph winds, and 80+ mph gusts as early as 8am, I don't feel comfortable having people play in those conditions.

The main issue I have is that Widefield has a lot of trees that are aged, or have been wind ravaged already, and the last thing I need is a Widefield widowmaker to come around and knock someone out or worse.

If the new date does not work for you, please make the refund request through discgolfscene and we will get you taken care of.

I again apologize for the lateness in this message but after enough players had dropped or voiced concern, and after having a lengthy discussion with Kyle, I believe that this is the right decision at this time.

Hole 16 will be broken into two with 16A playing from the sidewalk near the pro pad to 17s long positon (17s red basket)
Hole 16b will play from the 16 AM pad to 16s yellow
Hole 17 will play to hole 17s yellow basket in the short left

Rest of the layout will be set here shortly so people can start practicing.
