About this tournament
2 rounds of play
The TDGA 2023 Membership Drive will be held on Saturday, Jan 21 at Lakeside Park DGC and Sunday, Jan 22 at Rillito River Park DGC (B pads to Red Baskets).
We regret that this post-haste and after-the-fact shift from the traditional Groves XL and Santa Cruz B Pad format has led to some disappointment and anger for those of you who signed up for that and are not going to get that. We did not make the decision lightly, and we certainly aren't purposefully trying to cause any rifts or take this beloved setup away forever. Refunds will be honored without question, no hard feelings whatsoever from us. We just hope you know that we still value you, your opinion and any work you have done to boost this awesome community.
There will be a larger update in this space likely Saturday evening at the same time we change the flight choices and open them up so you all who are going to continue to play can pick morning, midday or afternoon cards at Lakeside.
Once again, Groves XL/Cruz will be on hiatus this member drive. It wasn't something we just flippantly tossed aside. It will be back. We have other ideas for it, on top of it still being a part of future January membership drives.
And we absolutely hear you loud and clear how much it means to you. We are not minimizing or ignoring your thoughts, feelings and wishes - even if we are making a decision that isn't in lockstep. You and your voice matters. Please always share your thoughts with us. We can't do right by you without you telling us what you feel - positive, negative or any flavor in between.
So this incarnation of the TDGA membership drive tournament covers 2023 TDGA membership dues. Players will compete by division (MPO, FPO, MP40, MP50, MA1, FA1, MA40, FA40, MA50, MA2, FA2) for a plethora of prizes and against the entire field for 2023 bag tags.
Shirts: Order online with registration (in men and women's sizes) for $12. Limit one shirt per person at registration. Extra shirts may be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the event until stock runs out.
You can play one round, both rounds or NO rounds if you want - if you sign up and purchase a shirt, you will get a tag and the shirt and earn the perks of club membership (such as the 50% ace pot bonus and $5 discount on PDGA membership...) In fact, we encourage yo to sign up even if you are playing another tournament. You don't want to be the person who hits the ace pot at Groves and only gets 1/4 of the pot, right? Or pay full price to the PDGA? Or not win CTPs that will give you credit at local shops to help you buy more than discs, hats or sometimes an umbrella, towel or pencil sharpener.
Ace pool available at registration or at check-in (CASH ONLY AT CHECK-IN).
Please bring extra cash for any other impromptu side games.
And once again,by joining the club, you will be supporting disc golf in Tucson. It is an exciting time in the Old Pueblo, and we hope you join us in celebrating it, even if it's not the traditional style this year.
Also, there are tangible benefits that come with TDGA membership including bigger ace pool payouts, $5 off your PDGA membership and new partnerships with local disc golf ventures that will upgrade your old CTPs from a disc, towel or pencil sharpener to vouchers that can be stacked and redeemed for a greater number of discs from more manufacturers, baskets, bags, carts and more.
