JOXV Announcement 7/14/2020 – AM Weekend Info

The 2020 Jacksonville Open Tournament Committee would like to thank you for your patience as we all go through an unprecedented time. At the onset of the pandemic and subsequent PDGA play stoppage, we made the decision to pick a date far enough in the future that would give us a chance to keep the 15th annual iteration alive. As our country has gained further understanding on how to safely continue with a somewhat normal life, we have been given approval to hold our events within a different landscape than what we were used to. In accordance with local, state and PDGA guidelines, we will be making a few major changes to how we will run JOXV. Please keep in mind, these changes will allow us to proceed with the event, keeping the players and staffs safety as our top priority. We will be making every effort to ensure a contact free experience with a strong adherence to social distancing guidelines.

Summary of changes: JOXV AM Weekend 9/12-13/2020



1. Pool Assignments

a. A Pool – MA1, MA2 – 72 Spots

b. B Pool – FA1, MA40, MA50, MA60, MA70, FA2, MA3, FA3 – 72 Spots

2. Pool round/course/pad assignments

a. Both Pools will play 2 rounds 18 (straight) at Fore Palms DGC, 1 round 20 at Springfield DGC

b. All Rounds will be Tee Times

A Pool / MA2 =

3. The group you are assigned to Sat (planned release of groupings will be Thurs before) will be your group for both rounds. Reshuffle based on score will occur after 2nd round

4. Ace fund will no longer be by pool. It will be 1 ace fund. If no Ace hit, payout will be determined via Random.org for 3 spots. Payout will be via PayPal, Venmo or GPay

5. PDGA Digital Scoring will be used for all rounds.

6. Payout will be in voucher from Tyler Searle (Chasin the Chains) who will be onsite for the weekend



We will reopen registration for Am Weekend on Tuesday July 21st at 8pm. Each pool has a cap of 72 players and the waitlist will begin by pool once that cap has been met. Waitlist will be by pool (1 out 1in).

We are striving to minimize contact and with this in mind, we will not handle cash for the ace fund. Ace will need to be paid electronically through the following methods:

1.Sign up for Ace Fund when you register, or if you are already registered, use your Discgolfscene.com registration confirmation email. There is a link a little more than half way down that allows you to modify your registration. You can go there and choose Ace Fund.

2. email me directly and we can work out a direct paypal, venmo or gpay method

Proceeds of tournament to benefit EDGE

Cap Restrictions will apply as outlined below and will be maintained on a per pool basis. Meaning a player in a pool drops, a player from that pools wait list gets in.

Ratings update disclaimer: If the final ratings change prior to the tournament (outside of 2 weeks) makes you ineligible for a division you are registered for and the next available division is in a different pool, you will be moved to the top of the waitlist of that pool.

Sun King Disc and Zuca were gracious enough to sponsor a beautiful Zuca All-Terrain Cart with saddlebags! A $360 value! This will go a long way to helping us meet our fundraising goals for EDGE. Tickets are $10 each and the lucky winner will be drawn and presented at the awards!
