Welcome to the Maryland Disc Golf Tour!
Number of Events: The number of events varies based on interest, the quality of MD events, and economic conditions. In the inaugural year, the 2025 season will start in May and include 15-20 events.
Series Events: Priority is placed on geographical representation, PDGA tier, history, event quality, TD participation, and demand. Flex start events will not be included in the series.
Season Timing: For 2025, May to November. The series will evaluate future years later and work around other MD events such as ice bowls, MD team challenges, and other conflicts. Ideally, the series will include spring, summer, and fall at minimum.
Qualifications: A minimum of 3 events is required to qualify for the overall standings, with a maximum of 8 events counting towards the overall score. A division must be offered at a minimum of 3 events AND have qualifying players for a champion to be recognized in that division.
Points: The points system is designed to encourage participation and recognize top performers
• Participation: 1 point for entering an event.
• Performance: 1 point for each person you beat.
Bonus Points: Awarded for top 5 finishes.
• 1st place: 7 points
• 2nd place: 4 points
• 3rd place: 3 points
• 4th place: 2 points
• 5th place: 1 point
Trophies: Trophies for athletes who place first in their respective divisions.
Payouts: Approx. top 25% of athletes within qualifying divisions with remaining funds after trophy expenditure.
Entry Fee: $1 per participant to be collected for each event in the series. Funds are used to fund trophies and payouts for top qualifiers in each division.
Sponsorships: If acquired, all proceeds will directly support the players.

• Increased opportunities and incentives to participate in Maryland's premiere events.
• Increased competition with annual standings and point structure.
• Trophies and payouts at the end of the series.
• Resume builder and evidence of success and influence for potential sponsors.
TDs and Club Representative Benefits:
• Increased advertisement of events, clubs, and courses.
• Increased reach to solicit to municipalities and sponsors.
• Directly providing an enhanced competitive experience to players and Maryland disc golf.

The series has no authority over the individual tournaments included in the series. Tournament directors and applicable personnel oversee and administer their events. This series is an independent concept that includes individual events but is not involved in their execution. If any issues arise at individual-sanctioned events, please get in touch with the TDS or PDGA for any further inquiries regarding the event.
