Trophies are being ordered today based on the total player count after Keystone Classic. Trophies for the series are only for first place and will only be for divisions with at least 20 total players over the course of the season. If any divisions cross over the 20 player threshold at this point we cannot guarantee a trophy for that division. Cash payouts for all division winners are guaranteed.

I have clarified that the player count for Series Purse payouts is reliant on the TOTAL number of players in a division. Every time a player enters an event, it counts as +1 for the field. For example, if Player A plays in 3 events, they count as 3 separate players for the Total Player count. After Summer's End Open, our current player totals in each division are as follows:

Leaderboards have been updated from The Slap. Some divisions have folks with huge leads, but those gaps can be closed as the leader has a # of events played advantage. Several divisions are quite close. We are past the halfway point in the season and the series payouts are coming along nicely! Upcoming events to earn points at include The Jagalope in mid August, Summer's End Open in mid September, then the season ramps up for the finale with Keystone Classic, The Hunt, and the Series Finale all in October to early November! I hope to see as many of y'all out there fighting for points.

Hello Hello Hello! Cameron, Melanie, and I are happy to announce some details for the 2024 Western PA Series! The TL:DR of the update is as follows:
-New point structure
-12 confirmed, potentially 16 total events in the series!
-New courses for the Series
-Increased flexibility for TDs means more events and offerings available to be in the series
-Addition of FA40 and MA50 to the series
-Increased sponsorship meaning better amenities and bigger payouts for B-tiers and Series Champions

For those who want more details, check out all the info below.

Events: This year we adjusted our requirements for events. By reducing the burden on TD's, and due to a change in point structure, we are able to bring events into the series that are smaller or unable to offer all of the divisions in the Series. While not all events have been posted to DGscene, or accepted their spot in the series, we are stoked to be increasing the total number of events in the series to at least 12, with the potential of 16 total events!
New Courses: This year, events will be taking place all around western Pennsylvania. We are excited to add the following courses to the series repertoire this year:
-Hasson Park
-North Strabane
-Return of Moraine State Park
-Potentially 1 more

Point Structure: Due to the increased number of events, we want to ensure the players with the most consistent performance are rewarded for their efforts while not fully diminishing the value of playing at least the minimum number of events. It will also newly be awarding points based on podium finishes, but will not overweight winning in a small field, vs. placing high in a large field. The changes are as follows:
-1 point earned for each percent of field beat
-1/2 point for each person in the division beat
-bonus points for podium finishes
-best 7 events count towards point total (best 5 or 6 if series size is smaller)
-no more participation points (DGscene would not calculate this correctly and we do not want to muddy the water from
how the calculation is performed)

Divisions: All divisions from last year will be returning to the series. Due to popular request, we have also added MA50 and FA40 to the Series. Similar to last year, if we go half of the series, without enough participants to meet the minimum payout for the championship purse, we will remove those divisions from the Series payouts, while still offering them to register for at each event.

Pros: We will have at least 3 B-tiers as part of the series this year. Due to feedback from last year, we have removed the Series Fee from Pro registration. As such pro series championship payouts will be based on revenue from refunds, series sponsorship, individual event sponsorship, and donations. We still expect series champions purses for pro divisions to be similar to last year, but this will allow us to ensure we go closer to matching the gross entry fee for our pros.

Event Cost: For 2024, Camber & Fedorenko run events will see a variety of costs per event, rather than the flat $60 for Ams. Due to feed back from 2023, and the relaxation of WPAS event requirements, we are happy to be able to offer events with different levels of cost for players this year. Some events will be payout only, some players pack only, others will be both. This will hopefully give folks more flexibility to be able to prioritize the events they want to play in. Similarly, we will no longer be providing lunch as part of the players pack cost for any of our events. We hope to continue to offer options for lunch for players at several of our events with catering or food trucks.
