If you didn't notice it in the flyer, the course bounty from our last version of this event is still in play. Zach Melton came over in 2019 to give the course record (60) a shot and was successful at knocking two strokes off of that with a 58 in the first round. He took home an extra $100 for that, but left another $1500 lying out there in the woods. Had he been able to knock another 4 strokes off of that first round, he would have taken home and extra $1600 to go with his winnings in the open division. Zach scorched the two 9 hole yellow segments, scoring twin 29's both times. He scored a mediocre (for him) 29 on his first round on the reds, giving him a 58 total, but scored a 33 on the 2nd time through the reds. Needless to say, he had room for improvement. No matter who it is this year, the first person to knock a stroke off of Zach's 58 gets $200 for that particular stroke. If they can remove another, they get $400 instead of $200. Another stroke? $800. One more ? $1600. That's the upper limit on the course record bounty. It's not that I think it's impossible for anyone to score a 53, it's just that $3200 is a bit much.
