not initially. I prefer not to offer divisions that don't generate full cards and at this event, those divisions tend not to draw enough players. If enough FA2 and MA2 registered players would prefer to play MA3 and FA3, I will open those divisions for players to move into. Cost would be the same and there are no payouts anyway.

Kevin, I am also interested in MA3 for this tournament. The PDGA specifies that if 4 or more players "are registered" in a division, that division must be offered. This is why we aren't seeing the appropriate divisions offered ahead of time. Count me as the 2nd person requesting MA3, and hopefully 2 more people will follow. There has been far more than adequate interest in MA3 divisions in this area this year. Muldoon Summer Sizzler has a 4 card with 2 waitlisted, NEADGC (New England Amateur Disc Golf Championship) has 43 players registered in Recreational. The demand is there, as players we just need to demand that TD's offer all appropriate divisions.

With a near instantaneous sell out on this event, it would seem we do need to demand it. Not offering the appropriate division for players to plan to play in from the start is not "inclusive". As we saw above, Kevin felt that he should publicly ask, and furthermore he expressed the concern any MA3 player might have about playing a division up by "bogging down" the cards. I just don't understand the benefit to not making these divisions an option. The PDGA goes both ways on this one, if you don't have a card, you can request players adjust divisions or drop.

It's a bit bogus to add MA3 after the fact, since some of us chose not to bog down MA2 or other divisions. I get it.... COvid, grow the sport. Assuming MA3 wouldn't get filled?? Have you seen other tournament sign ups? Appreciate all the work that goes into being a TD and not trying to give anyone grief, but TDs need to figure out a better way.

Frankie is a great TD and has done a lot to accommodate the growth of the sport. This used to be a 1 day event and he has turned it into a 2 day. That's already a lot to ask and he puts a lot of work into these events. Maybe next year MA3 will be an addition. Can't please everyone. None of my friends got into this event and we all were signed on at the same time.

Not questioning Frankie's dedication and immense effort, and recognize this isn't his or anyone's fault. It's disappointing for sure, hopefully TDs will work together and put more thought into how to handle the astronomical growth/interest in tournament play. More tournaments certainly helps, though easier said than done with a limited number of courses, experienced TDs, etc. Thanks to Frankie and all the TDs out there doing their best to bring us great tournament action.
