Hello Disc Golfers!
We are now into the final countdown of days before the 2021 Viking Spring Open. Thank you all for signing up to play, we currently have a full field of 90 players with noone on the waitlist. The weather forecast looks good too. If you withdraw this week you will only receive a full refund if your spot is subsequently filled.
The baskets have arrived, and will be installed mid-week, however the golf course has men's league and other events all day Thursday so the course will only be open for disc golf practice on Friday. The $10 Greens fee will apply and please call ahead for 'tee time'.
If anyone needs to switch divisions you should be able to do it yourself via the dgscene page, if not let me know.
Lunch menu for those who paid in advance, and others who may still be interested will be a walking taco, also will be a chili hot dog option, and the main bar menu will also be available, but them trying to cook for 70-90 people in the short lunch break will be impossible so please use that as a last resort and purchase the lunch ticket or use alternate options.
We will be using PDGA Live Scoring, more details in a future email.
There are a lot of new tournament players; make sure you know the rules, your discs are marked, you have a mini marker, throw provisionals if needed, no alcohol during round, your phone is charged in case you are the scorekeeper etc
I will not be strictly enforcing the glow tape rule, however if your group says it is excessive you will have to either remove it or stop using that disc.
Players can check in Friday to get the players pack (Powered by Prodigy) and last minute info, or Saturday morning. Hole assignments will be posted on the PDGA site by Friday, but they may still change so double check before heading to the hole for the first round.
