2021 CRACKED PLASTIC CLASSIC

Thank you for coming to this year’s Cracked Plastic Classic. We are going to do our best to hold this tournament during a pandemic. We are going to take some precautions and ask that you cooperate with us and are patient as we do our best to limit contact between people during this event. We ask that you practice social distancing and try to maintain a 6’ distance from others. That you use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when around others and when handling tournament equipment and tournament merchandise. We also request that you respect others and their wishes regarding their comfort level of exposure. If someone asks you to move a little further away from them, just move a little further away. Failure to practice social distancing could result in expulsion from the tournament.

There is no player’s meeting. This letter will work as your meeting and you are expected to know the information provided in it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We will also be posting tournament information by the bulletin board. Please check there as the day goes on for any new information and announcements.

Scoring this year will be primarily be done using the PDGA live scoring App. The website is: www.pdga/apps/tournament/score/login
The codes for this event are:

Sat – 6!CPC21
Sun – 4!CPC21

If you and your group are unable to use this App to do the live scoring, please get a scorecard from Tournament Central for each person. Each person should keep their own card and do not share the scorecards among the group during the round. The scorecards must be turned into Tournament Central after the round.

Tee assignments are posted online. We will also be keeping a leaderboard for everyone to look at. The Online posting will take precedence over the leaderboard in case of any discrepancy between the 2.

We are playing 2 rounds of 24 holes. The tee assignments for each round are below:

Saturday:
MP40+-short/long
MA1-long/long
MA3-short/short
MA50+-short/short
MA60+-short/short
Juniors - short/short

Sunday:
MPO-long/long
FPO-short/short
MP50+-short/short
MA40+-short/short
MA2-short/long
FA1-short/short
FA2 - short/short

The 2-minute warning will be blown at 8:30am for the first round. Please make sure to be on your tee by then. The time for the second round will be posted by the bulletin board. That is also the time for the 2-minute warning of the second round. So, be on your tee at that time and ready to go.

We ask that you clear your disc from the basket after making your putt and that you only handle your own discs. Please, no clearing of someone else’s disc and handing it back to them.

Awards are also different and for amateurs, it will take longer to get your stuff. There will be no awards ceremony. The final standings and payout will be posted on the leader board. Pros will have their choice to collect cash at the event or get their money sent via PayPal. Amateurs will have to wait to get called off to come and select their winnings. We will only be allowing a few at a time to select their stuff to limit how close people get to each other. This will be done by the top finishers in divisions going first. Amateurs are also expected to wear PPE to select their stuff. We also ask that you please select your stuff quickly as there will be others waiting to select their stuff. Once your division’s results are posted, please do not go too far from Tournament Central so you can hear when you are called (if you finished in the payout). Amateurs can also select their winnings on another day (Saturday winners can come back Sunday in the middle of the day or if you are going to play the Lumberjack Open, or league, …) or have their payout mailed to them (postage would come out of payout). If you would like to collect your winnings another day, please let us know your plans. We are not responsible for tracking people down to get them their stuff. We will work with you to accommodate what you would like but you must communicate with us first.

COURSE RULES AND OB’S FOR THE CRACKED PLASTIC CLASSIC 2021:

In general, with the amount of snow and the fact that park roads are closed to traffic, we will not be playing roads and paved paths as OB. Play from where the disc lands.

The usual water hazards will still be OB and it is group discretion to define the actual water line. The disc must be clearly on the ice or in the water. Any questionable lie should go to the thrower (especially if they want to play from that lie). Please do not go onto the ice to retrieve discs. Anyone who does, is doing so at their sole responsibility. All OB’s are noted below.

We will also be playing casual tees. If a player is not comfortable using the tee area because of snow and ice, they can throw from either side of the tee or further back from the tee. They cannot tee any closer to the basket than the provided tee area. They also must stay within a yard of the tee area. They must also inform their group of their intention to throw from another spot than the tee area before doing so.

Hole 1: There is an OB line long of the basket inside the tennis court. Any shot that lands past this line and in the tennis courts must play their next lie from the Drop Zone outside of the courts in front of the basket. There are no mandatory doglegs.

Hole 2: The long tee is inside the tennis courts. There are no mandatory doglegs. OB, water hazard on right side of fairway.

Hole 3: The long tee is from the road.

Hole 6: OB, Water hazard on left side of fairway and long of basket.

Hole 7: The short tee is from the marked area on the paved path on the same side of the bridge as the basket is. The little building near the basket is OB on top. OB Water
hazard.

Hole 11: The other side of the fence long of the basket is OB.

Hole 15: The other side of the fence on the left side of the fairway is OB.

Hole 17: OB, water hazard long of basket.

Hole 21: Inside of the tennis courts is OB.

Hole 22: OB, water hazard on left side of fairway.

Hole 23: Both the long and the short tees are from marked areas on the paved path. The long tee is closest to the previous basket and the short tee is further down the path.

Hole 24: The posts around the parking lot are the OB. The line is on the parking lot side of the posts. So, a disc needs to be completely inside the parking lot to be OB. There is a Mandatory Dogleg on the corner of the parking lot nearest the fairway. It is marked by an orange arrow (there are 2 posts marked with arrows and the closest one to the fairway is the actual Mando). The Drop Zone for missing the Mando is the short tee.
