Hello everyone,
I regret to inform you all that the city of Austin has extended the current Level 4 restrictions to the middle of February as of yesterday. I spoke with the parks department and there is no set date that they can give me for when this event will be allowed to run. Unfortunately the Met Center is following the city's guidance in regards to COVID-19 and will not allow this event to be run at that property either.
I will not cancel this event. The ATX Open will be postponed until the city/county allows me to run the event. I have thousands of dollars invested in this event and I still anticipate bringing Austin one of the best disc events at two of the best courses the city has to offer at the championship level. However, I do understand if you need to be refunded for the event and I will be happy to process that transaction for you. As of now, I do not think I will be able to get approval for this event until mid-April. As most of you know, the month of March is already heavily booked up with DGPT events. I would never want to compete against those events and I look forward to playing in all of those events as well. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the support you guys/gals have given this event not only this year, but since its inception. 2020 has been a year I can't wait to be over with but will surely never forget. Thank you all and I look forward to seeing you on the course or at future events. Thank you.
