2020 Deer Lakes PDGA League   October 24, 2020 at 11:28pm

Year End Summary

Firstly, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out to this year’s Deer Lakes League under the crazy circumstances that we had. It was awesome to see everyone out there in these strange times and most importantly, keep everyone safe playing the sport we love. It was very weird, but everyone worked through it and I think that things went rather smoothly.

All of the new players this year was absolutely awesome to see. This year we had 103 different players playing a total of 527 rounds over the 16 weeks. Compared to last year’s record of 373 rounds played in 20 weeks, this is truly astonishing. The average attendance went from 18.7 players per week to 32.9!!!

We had 5 people who showed up all 16 weeks of the year; myself, Chris Lachendro, Adam Couture, Tim Sladisky, and Macky D. A huge thanks to your dedication! With the increase in players, the ace pot was hit 3 times throughout the year while the birdie pot got wrecked 6 times! I’ll take a look at the scoring data to see if anything needs to be tweaked with the birdie pot, but I think it is pretty good as is.

On the points front, we had three runaway winners for the year. I took down the Open field snagging 4 wins on the year. Adam Couture grabbed the win in Advanced with 6 wins on the year and Micah Beideman dominated the Intermediate field with 5 wins.

For year-end money, the ace pot sits at $226 while the birdie pot is at $90. The league has $364 in collected fees which is used throughout the year for CTP prizes and cookouts. The PFD is holding onto $600 of this total in case of my untimely demise and there is $80 in the money envelop which I’ll hold on to.

That’s all I have for this year. Stay safe over the winter and I can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
