Here’s what’s up, Again first let me thank everyone for for signing up or attempting to sign up for the 16th Annual Pumpkin Shootout. Thank you Disc Nado for hosting the prereg party, Matt Nance for organizing the increase demand for club membership. As well as everyone else who has helped thus far.
Ultimately we have more club members then space allotted in the 2020 rules update. I thought we stayed within the rules but to some we didn’t. I’ve already started an email thread with the PDGA on the issue as I’m sure some have.
Basically nobody’s suggestions last night on how it should of been handled as far as who gets invited would work. Previous TD, previous winners, club members, donors, volunteers etc. we only have 40 spots to give away.
Now those who did a lot of discussion last night about this issue obviously didn’t look into this issue enough. They found what they thought to be a broken rule and complained either because they felt they deserved to be in the event or felt the need to strong arm an event.
The pro field cap is within the rules by the way and was based on the last three years numbers.
I’m not bothered by the situation. The PDGA feels we need to added more people I will promote every person on the wait list into the event and use Woodmere. Then I will close the waitlist. The tournament will be capped at 216 players with 4 per hole, I will make sure everyone gets a shot at a pumpkin for $1000 and everyone will have a blast because we won’t be crowded.
The Evansville Open, Champioship at Prides Creek, and now PSO have all filled this year which is awesome.
I thank everyone for your time, and I’m looking forward to the 16th Annual Pumpkin Shootout.
