During check-in we will also have those hole assignments posted on the Scorepointe.
· If you are top of the card you will be issued a scorecard.
· You do have the option, to use PDGA live scoring. The PDGA digital scoring app may be used if you would like. The player logging scores on the app MUST ask each competitor their score, no assumptions and MUST allow everyone to confirm their score each hole and after the round to ensure accuracy.

• Course specific rules are posted here, no paper player booklets will be given out to decrease points of contact with others, refer to the course rules from this email on your phones if you have any questions.
• You MUST check in both days to make sure the tournament staff is aware of whom is playing and may need to adjust cards and tee times to account for no shows.
• Saturday Player meetings will NOT be mandatory. The meeting will be very brief for each pool on Saturday, as all the course rules are all available here. The players meeting is mainly to ask questions and allow for TDs to adjust hole assignments if we have several players no show / no call. Should take less than 2-5 minutes and please remain spread out appropriately for social distancing, with your masks ON if you choose to attend.
When you arrive at the courses…
Per the requirements of the State of New Jersey, all participants should utilize a mask or cloth face covering when in areas with other people. This would include:
- Tournament Central during check-in, score card returns, players meeting and awards
- Putting Green or during the event while huddled on near a tee pad, Social Distancing of a MINIMUM of 6 feet between participants is strongly encouraged as well
- Parking lots during break
- Anyone who has COVID-19, is exhibiting common symptoms of COVID-19, is ill, or is in direct contact with someone with COVID-19, must not participate and may be asked to leave the event.
We also request your patience and cooperation with these guidelines for the comfort and safety of your fellow competitors. Also, please keep this about disc golf and not your personal views regarding the social distancing guidelines.
Check-In…
• Check-in at TD Central.
• AMs will receive their voucher for merch at this time, no discs or merch will be available Saturday at either course to decrease points of contact. Merch will be available Sunday at Stafford all day – so that we may spread out the potential for any gathering at the merch tables.
· If you still have to sign the COVID 19 PDGA waiver, please see the TD to sign the waiver as you will not be allowed to play if you do not sign this
· If you have a SJDG tag, write down your name and tag number, these will be for Saturday rounds in your pool only (as Sunday tee times will have players leaving when they are done).
· AMATEUR players will receive a $15 voucher to be used for any SJDG discs or merchandise
• Quick players meeting at TD Central prior to the first round (approximately 5 min). A mask or face covering must be worn in this area.
• After the meeting you can proceed to your holes, we will call two minutes and then start
General…
There will be four competitors per hole, so speed of play is a factor…
· You have 30 seconds to play your lie upon arrival, which means you should be thinking about what you would like to do prior to getting to your lie
· Lost discs – as mentioned prior, if you cannot locate your disc EVERYONE in the group MUST assist and a clock/timer MUST be used. After the 3-minutes the disc is considered lost and that player will receive 1 penalty stroke and must return to their previous lie. If you find the disc after the 3 minutes, it is still considered lost.
· No two-meter rule in effect

I would also like to thank our sponsors for this event, South Jersey Disc Golf donated the $750 added cash for the pros, Harris Disc Golf Design donated the banners, Dana Lit designs donated her time for the artwork, Innova Champion supports all of our events. Also please recognize our hole sponsors this year, Vince Sutlic, Marcia Foct, and True Par Disc Golf.
Lastly, without an amazing crew of volunteers at Stafford and Alcyon these courses would wou;ld not be what they are today.
Alcyon’s Park department, including their Parks Director Andy Fox worked all through Covid to keep Alcyon open, clean, and install additional short tees pads. Special shout out to Rick Benfield for his work over at Alcyon, with him and Andy over there taking care of the place this course will always be in great shape!
Stafford was closed for Covid longer than any other course in NJ, and it suffered badly. The grass was extremely high as we could even go in to work. During the closed period the same storm that crushed our neighbors over at Sedgley also paid a visit to Stafford and took out about 40 trees here. The Woodpecker volunteer crew did a fantastic job getting the fairways back in shape and cleaning up the many downed trees all over the course. Unless you saw Stafford a month ago (which you couldn’t because it was closed), you would not believe how much work has been done in the last month. Our first day back was heartbreaking, and Scott Gay, Erik Cistaro, Matt Just Matt, Rodney Francis and the rest of the Woodpeckers turned an overgrown jungle and storm damaged forest back into what we expect Stafford to look like.
In large part to the groups and people mentioned above, both courses are in the layouts for this weekend already, and fully prepared, mowed and marked for the tournament.
Again we thank you for your cooperation to make New Jersey State Championships a well run event! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
