I sent out an email to all registered players about the "course change and other changes" and will contact waitlist players with the changes soon, but I thought I'd post here too:
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well; staying healthy, sane, and safe in these crazy times!
As many of you probably know, the City of Austin still has not re-opened most park amenities, including disc golf. We really don’t know if they will open things up soon or not, and even if they do open the courses we don’t know what restrictions they might put in place.
Due to these uncertainties, Waterloo Disc Golf Club is going to change the location of the event to the Met Center. The date will remain the same (Sat. Aug. 22nd). And in case you hadn’t heard the news yet, the Met Center will be one of the courses used during the National Finals in late October.
We will be doing assigned tee times, probably starting at 7:30am.
In keeping with local and PDGA guidelines:
Group size limited to 4 players
No caddies and no spectators allowed
There will NOT be a shuffle of players after round 1, you will play with the same 4-some both rounds
We will do all scoring and results online
Player’s Meeting will be by video and/or with documents made available online
There will be no awards ceremony at the end
We apologize because we know this is not how you normally want to play an event, and it is definitely not how we normally want to run one; but our goal is to have a good tournament while keeping in mind the safety and health of everyone involved.
If you would like to drop out because of any of these changes we completely understand, and there is still time to do so and receive a full refund.
Thanks,
Gordon Kelley
