Week 4 was another scorcher! We lost a few players to the event at Rose City Golf Course, but still had 29 people that came to play in the heat.
Like the weather, the competition was also hot as THREE teams tied at the top with -15. Winning the throw-off was the team of Bernal Bruns and Jim Morris, who walked away with $48! Next closest was the team of Dominic Lombardo and Micah Ledoux, who won $26. Rounding out the top three was the brotha-from-anotha-motha team of Brody Cannon and Cole Redalen, who took home $18.
Sitting only one stroke back in outright fourth place was the smooth shooting of -14 by Darin McCoy and Travis Hansen. They collected their $14 without the pressure of a throw-off.
The battle for last cash came down to the two teams at -13. Winning the throw-off and $10 was Matt Schroeder and Leandro DeLange, slightly edging out Ian Walker and Brandon Lopez.
Our course modifications tonight featured an alternate teepad on hole 4, and a lengthened teepad on hole 5. Hole 5 was also the home of our Closest to Pin competition for an MVP Octane and a Birdie Marker. Bernal stuck one close on one of his last shots of the night to edge out the other 4 people that momentarily thought they had it. Congrats Bernal! And thank you to Jimmie Valentin who was visiting from out of town for the donation of the Birdie Marker.
We mixed things up tonight and put the Longest Putt competition on the tricky Hole 8. On the last putt of the night, Val Walker sunk one from downtown to claim the Gateway VooDoo and an Innova coozie. Great use of that "cali" play, Val!
No aces were hit this week, so $29 will roll over to next week!
