BIG APRIL FOOLS DOUBLES INFO EMAIL!
--Some of this information will be a repeat of what we've sent before. But several things have changed and there is A LOT of new information so please read everything.--
TIME AND PLACE:
Sunday, July 5th at Willamette Park in Corvallis, 9:30 AM.
TOURNAMENT ORGANIZATION:
-There will be no players meetings before or after.
-The tournament will consist of ONE round of 21 holes with added special features.
-It will be a SHOTGUN START at 9:30 AM, meaning that a group will start (and end) simultaneously at each hole. PLEASE arrive early enough to locate your hole and be ready to play at 9:30. Hole assignments are provided in this email (see below) and will also be posted on Facebook and the Disc Golf Scene page.
-Score cards will be provided to each group. There will be a drop box for score/CTP cards at the info booth near Hole 1. Scores can also be texted to Scott (541-908-6958) if all players agree on card.
-Hole instructions are on the tee signs, so read the tee signs!!!
We are playing a best disc round unless otherwise stated on the tee signs. Each team group will play for two CTP prizes, one at the hole designated by the CTP sign that has your team's name on it, and one on your group's last hole. Cards will be provided to put in a drop box at the info booth, but you can also take a picture of the CTP card with winner's name and text to Scott at 541-908-6958.
There is a basket up for grabs again this year as well as a $100 ace pot. The basket is available on Hole 3 only, but the $100 is on any other hole. An eagle wins $50. Payout for pro divisions will be via Paypal. AM divisions will get prizes.
Everyone is eligible for the basket, but only those who paid in to the ace pot are eligible for the $100. If you want in, send $1.00 via Paypal [email redacted].
-When your last hole is finished being played, the tournament is over. Following the tournament, there will be an awards ceremony off site (see details below.)
COVID RULES:
The tournament has been approved by City of Corvallis Parks & Rec, ON CONDITION that we practice social distancing at the course before, while, and after playing. In order to do so, it has been necessary to run this differently from how disc golf tournaments are usually run.
-Masks are recommended.
-No players meetings and no congregating.
-All attendees must maintain six-foot spacing. Markers will be at tee pads to indicate social distancing spacing. Space your own group six feet apart and do not approach other groups.
-Do not handle others' discs or equipment. Do not touch the basket when you retrieve your disc.
-Baskets will be sanitized prior to play, but please bring your own hand sanitizer and use it.
-Score cards are to be kept by one player only and dropped in a box at the end that we will disinfect before further handling. (Can also be sent to Scott at 541-908-6958.)
-There will be social distancing monitors, as required by the parks department. Please respect their authority. People flouting the social distancing guidelines will be booted. This may seem draconian, but in order to be given permission to have the tournament and keep good relations with the city for future tournaments, we need to take this seriously.
-Players pack distribution will consist of pre-packed team bags set at team starting holes prior to play. [The players packs have already been put together, to allow for quarantine time. No more requests will be taken, so please don't email us about that. To those who responded to our previous emails (thank you!!) we did our absolute best to get as many people as possible their top picks.]
-Leave site after round is finished, instead of milling about and socializing.
-Awards ceremony will be off site in an outdoors facility (see information about Cascade BBQ below) immediately following the tournament.
AWARDS CEREMONY:
We will be leaving the course immediately after the round to meet at Cascade BBQ in their large outdoor area for games and awards! We will provide one drink voucher (beer, cider, or soda) to each player who attends. Food will not be provided but will be available for purchase. Looks like they have some fun planned for us there.
Please wear masks whenever possible and of course indoors per current state requirements.
Cascade BBQ is located at 2575 NW Kings Blvd, Corvallis, in the Timberhill Shopping Center uphill from Winco. (541) 829-2009
If you do not go to the ceremony and you receive an award/prize, we will mail it to you after the event.
