The April Fools Doubles Tournament will take place on Sunday July 5th
at Willamette Park. The tournament has been approved by City of
Corvallis Parks & Rec, ON CONDITION that we practice social distancing
at the course before, while, and after playing. In order to do so, it has
been necessary to make some changes to the event. Please read
through the following list of specifics of play, players packs, awards
ceremony, and opting out.
Before tournament:
-Everybody has until Friday June 26th to opt out with a full refund. After
that, no refund.
-After the 26th, you will receive an email regarding Hole assignment
and Players Pack preferences. You can choose color of t-shirt (we
already have your size) and type of disc. First respond, first serve. If you
don't respond, you get what you get.
During tournament:
-All competitors must maintain six-foot spacing and avoid contact with
other players and their equipment. There will be social distancing
monitors, as required by the parks department. Please respect their
authority. People flouting the social distancing guidelines will be
booted. This may seem draconian, but in order to be given permission
to have the tournament we need to take this seriously.
-The tournament will consist of one round of 21 holes with added
special features.
-It will be a shotgun start at 9:30 AM, meaning that a group will start
simlutaneously at each hole. Hole assignments will be provided prior to
the day of the tournament.
-All Pro cards will consist of three teams; most Am cards will consist of
two teams. Score cards will be provided to each group to be kept by one
player only and dropped in a box at the end that we will disinfect before
further handling.
-Players packs will be available at Hole 1, to be picked up after playing
Hole 21.
-In place of CTP prizes, each group will play for one or more prizes amongst themselves. Pros
will play for Paypal payout, Ams play for scrip. There will be trophies at
the ceremony for 1st and 2nd in each division of Pro and Am.
-Please leave site after round is finished, instead of milling about and
socializing.
-After the round, we will meet at Cascade BBQ in their outdoor area for
a complementary drink and the awards ceremony with trophies and
prizes. Cascade BBQ will be a great spot to maintain social distancing
because their outdoor area is spacious. If you do not want to go to the
ceremony, we will mail your award/prize to you after the event.
-$100 Ace pot is in effect as well as a basket up for grabs!
We are excited to host this event! We have a ton of swag to give away! the players packs are totally worth the entry fee. Those tie dye towels are awesome! The round of disc golf should be challenging but fun. Let's play some disc golf!
