Mostly a time consideration. Playing 18 holes and including the letter holes make for poor flow, as you would have to skip 6 numbered holes. Playing 2 rounds of 24 would take considerably more time. As one of the first tournaments out of the lockdown, we are piloting a lot of new process's. There are quite a few MetroPark, State and PDGA rules, guidelines and recommendations that make running a tournament a lot different. Our primary goals are running a safe, efficient and fun tournament. Thanks for the question, Barry. Hopefully, we knock this out of the park and can look to larger tournaments with more holes later this summer.
