TL/DR: The 13th Whispering Falls Harvest is being postponed to October 17th 2020.
Due to the recent announcement extending the suspension of event sanctioning for Professional Disc Golf Association events through April 30, the 13th Whispering Falls Harvest has officially been postponed and rescheduled for October 17th.
I think many of you likely saw this coming and were expecting this, however I still apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. These are certainly unique and trying times for everyone, and I’m thankful that we have an organization that is doing their best to look out for the greater good, and we as a club intend to do my due diligence in the same efforts.
What does this mean for you?
If you are currently registered and wish to remain registered, you need not take any action other than updating your personal schedules and calendars.
If you know for certain that you will not be able to attend on that day and wish for a refund, please contact me as soon as possible and I will process that as quickly as I can. I appreciate your patience and understanding. At this current juncture I will be giving cash refunds, however if there is a mass exodus of Am players we may have to adhere more strictly to the PDGA guidelines on refunds and offer a partial cash + player's pack option. I will make you aware of the current situation should the need arise.
If you do intend to play on the new date please DO NOT request a refund with the intention of signing up again later. I understand the hardship that may be caused by having your funds tied up for an extended amount of time, as we’re feeling it too. We have event stamped discs already and numerous other supplies purchased that may need to be reallocated. We will do our best to work with you, please contact me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding.
Some of you may notice that we had previously scheduled Mason Dixon Team Matchplay for October 17th. Unfortunately with this schedule change we will most likely not be holding the matchplay event this year. I understand this will disappoint some, however this was the schedule shuffle with the least moving parts for all parties involved. Matchplay will return, if not on a different date in 2020 then in 2021.
In an effort to recoup some of our expenses for this event (and to get some sweet plastic in your hands!) I will be posting some discs for sale soon. Be on the lookout for that post!
Thank you all for your support of 717 and our events- it truly means a great deal. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you on the course again soon! Until then, be safe and be kind.
