Thank you all for signing up to play in this awesome charitable event benefiting Athens Area Habitat for Humanity. Special thanks to all the sponsors, who just happen to all be disc golfers or business owed or ran by disc golfers! Thank you to everyone that purchased a sponsor disc. I am going to try and be short and sweet with this informative email, but that will be hard to do. Here goes….
I will also post this on discgolfscene in comments. In the spirt of giving and WINNING please come prepared to spend some money on our raffle. There are lots of awesome items you could win.
Things you need to know:
-8am Park Gates open. Do not show up and expect to get in and end up getting you feeling hurt.
(Pavilion #1) through gate, at stop sign take a left and follow signs to Pavilion #1. It is located to the right of hole 10, but on the left side of road. There will be a banner and putting baskets out front. You can’t miss it, or maybe you can?
-8:05am Check-In is mandatory / Pick up your players package
There is plenty of parking between hole 10 and the pavilion. Also in front of pavilion #1 continuing on toward the lake parking lot where the beach is located. There is also a parking lot at the dog field/ball field parking lots across street from pavilion #1. Some of you will be able to park close for check ing and will likely want to drive to a parking lot that is closer to where you starting hole is located. Example would be if you start on hole 4 or 5, you should park in the front by hole one. Please DO NOT park anywhere except a clearly marked parking space. A better example is if you start on hole 5A/22, there is literally a parking spot behind the tee pad 15 feet. Take advantage of that parking, especially around the wood’s holes. Ask a local if you are not sure where to park.
-9:15am Mandatory Player's Meeting (Pavilion #1)
-10:00am TEE OFF, I have moved the schedule around some.
I will also edit and update this information on discgolfscene schedule.
-2:30pm est - After the round, we will have a Cookout Type Lunch ready for you.
All Beef Hotdogs, Hamburgers, Little Debbie Snack Cakes, sodas, sparkling water, sweet or unsweet tea. There is enough food so that you can have a hotdog and hamburger, bag of chip, 1 Little Debbie, and a drink of your choice. Once everyone has had a chance to eat, then we will open it up for seconds if there is food left.
If you have a food allergy or have a dietary restriction, please send me an email so I can try to accommodate your need. We will have a few black bean veggie burgers available upon request. So, if you know you want a veggie burger, you should email me and I’ll have it ready.
3:30pm est - Immediately after everyone has finished eating, Creature Comforts Brewing Co. has stepped up big time and donated an incredible gift bag for the for the winner of each division.
We will take time to recognize the winners as well as the runners up. There will also be a CTP for each division, as well as any aces to award will be divvyed out at this time. Then we will move directly in to drawing raffle tickets and making winners out of you all. Raffle tickets will be available at check in and during lunch up until the end of lunch, beginning of awards. Please buy as many as you can muster. There are discs, towels, minis, random other disc golf related items such as a Latitude 64 Luxury Backpack Bag. At check in there will be a pile of the stuff for raffle so you can see what is possible for you to gain with you charitable purchase of raffle tickets. This money goes straight to the donation.
There will not be any games after the raffle, as it will have been a long day and I think most everyone will want to go home and rest after 27 holes.
I am attaching the hole description as a word document. Please print it yourself or have available on your phone. I will have copies available as someone will not have a smart phone, even though this is 2020. Probably them old guys.
Please remember to abide by all posted park rules. No Smoking and No Alcohol is allowed. This is a PDGA sanctioned event, and if I see anything that shouldn’t be seen during play, I will say something to you and ask you very politely to leave. Before, during, and after the round there will be representatives from the park and Habitat hanging out at the Pavilion. Please, do not let me see anything that shouldn’t be seen. I know we have a great group of folks here and none of that will be necessary. Thank you ahead of time.
I am sure that I have forgot to tell you something. Hopefully I will remember it before the player’s meeting so I can tell you……
Thanks again, you all are the good people!
