Either Mike (the TD) or DiscGolfScene triggers the refund process after the tournament starts, so you don't have to request it. I've been on waiting lists a few times without getting in and never had an issue getting the refund. Good luck on getting in - odds are in your favor someone will withdraw, though sometimes they withdraw at the last minute.

Yes, if you're there when there's a no-show, you'd could get in. I typed 'could' because it's up to the TD of course and I'm just going with past experiences of players getting into the tourney that way. Make sure you're paid fully into the tournament with the waitlist or have the cash with you. It might be better to message Mike (sooner than later as he's busy I'm sure) about whether it's worth showing up (to maybe get in) if you're on the waitlist. Good luck!
