Typically, TD's do not have the ability to tell when or if your spot will open up. You can see your current position on the registration page. There are some settings the TD can utilize to let you know the moment you get in. For instance, if you paid in full you can be automatically promoted to the registration list when your spot opens. Additionally, the closer to the tournament and the worse the forecast gets, the better your chances of entry from the waitlist. Hope this helps.
