2 days until the party starts!!! Don't forget we have a new day and new venue this year, with league being at Garage Bar Willoughby on Thursdays with a 7 PM start time. We are also staring a Beginner Pool (B Pool) to allow for more chances to cash for new and lower level players. Pool info below:
A Pool -- $10 entry ($7 to payout, $1 to side game, $1 to league championship fund, $1 to league party fund)
B Pool -- $6 entry ($3 to payout, $1 to side game, $ to league championship fund, $1 to league party fund)
Payouts will be based on number of players per pool. Info below:
2-3 players -- 1 payout (100%)
4-7 players -- 2 payouts (70% / 30%)
8-11 players -- 3 payouts (50% / 30% / 20%)
12-16 players -- 4 payouts (40% / 30% / 20% / 10%)
17+ players -- 5 payouts (35% / 25% / 20% / 15% / 5%)
This will be based on the money allotted from entry fees for each division.
Each week all Pools will compete in a side game with all moneys collected going to one winner. This can be disc golf related, or maybe something extra depending on what I come up with.
There will be two league Champions this year, one for each Pool. This will be points based, similar to years past. If you win with 10 people in your pool, you get 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etc. Total points at year end will be champion. With a shortened season, there may be a small payout for the top 3 in each division, but I want to make sure a trophy goes to each winner. How the remaining funds will be used will be announced mid-season. B Pool is intended for new and lower level players. I will reserve the right to move people up or down based on their scores. If both Pools are played, I will find an adjustment for total league points based on the finish for each night based on all scores. We will all be putting the same layout, so this shouldn't be hard to do. I want to keep it fair and give all people a chance to cash this year.
Also, as in years past, there is a $5 League Entry fee. This entry fee is not due the first week, as it gives new players a chance to check it out before committing. The entry fee will got cover a MVP Black Hole Pro basket that will be raffled away at the end of league at the League Party. Tickets are earned each night you play. The more you come, the more chances you have to win the basket. Tickets will be awarded once the League Entry fee is paid, and will go back for all weeks played. After the cost of the basket is obtained, the remaining funds will be used for the League Party and possibly some extra prizes. As in years past, all funds will be reported weekly for all to see. I'd like to have $200-250 for the League Party to cover food. The remaining money if we hit that point will be used to either cover trophies or go to additional prizes. If there is a great turnout, there may be another basket purchased to raffle away. All this will be announced mid-season, as I should have a good idea of where we are at then. I will also take donations of new discs or other dg swag to raffle away at the League Party. Donations will earn extra tickets for the basket raffle.
We will also be doing the Monthly Poker Game. It will be $1 a week, with 75% of entries going to the winner and the remaining 25% to the League Party / Prize fund. January will have 5 league nights, so it will be a 5 Card Draw style hand. Each week with your $1 entry, you receive a card. Best 5 card hand at the end of the month is the winner. You do not need to enter all weeks, but if you want a better chance to win, all 5 weeks will be optimal. But if you only get two cards and land 2 Aces and it wins best hand, then you win. The deck is refreshed each week, as 52 cards will not cover all 4 or 5 weeks of playing. So you could have some monster hands.
And don't forget those dollars for dice and other games, as that is sure to also happen!!
