On the Next Gen Facebook page it was announced that they were capping participants at 90. It didn't say anything about dropping it to a B tier, though.

It was down graded to a B months ago. It was to allow the players to accept merch instead of cash. A tiers would require you to accept cash or it moves to the next person.

Really? I thought it was showing up as an A-tier and advertised as an A-tier when I got an invite less than a month ago.
