Thank you to Innova Disc Golf for their title sponsorship support of the event. I would also like to acknowledge and thank the following for their cash and product donations: Maverick Disc Golf, Atchison Hospital, Brandon Tacket, Live Well Atchison, Blish-Mize Co., Berger Company / Atchison Leather, DZ Discs, Neil Killian and Willie’s Sports Pub. I would also like to thank the City of Atchison for being so cooperative in running this disc golf tournament and the Parks department for voluntarily doing course improvements, both requested and not-requested. Check in is at Shelter #1 at Warnock Lake ( 39.536286, -95.148610 )from 8:15 – 8:55. All players must check in. If you are not checked in at the start of the 9am player meeting you risk being scratched from the event. Shelter #1 is near Tee #14 at the Earhart Disc Golf Course. Regarding parking, please see the large P’s on the map. Please do not park in the lot for the International Forest of Friendship – they have an event going on Saturday as well. Please do not park along the side of the roads that would affect shots on the fairways.
For round 2, we are moving over to the traditional Jackson Park (GVVJ+68 Atchison, Shannon, KS ) ( 39.543065, -95.119676 ). Start time will be at least one hour after the last card is turned in at Warnock. Likely, it will be longer than that. Your cards and hole starts will not be the same from round 1, so make sure you check back in at Jackson to see where you start. If you are not playing round 2, please inform me ASAP.
Please review and retain the course maps I’ve included. Typically, I supply scorecards with distances and pars along with OB sheets, but do not supply color maps due to cost.
Afterwards, I’m hoping to head over to Willie’s Sports Pub if I’m not completely exhausted. It is only 7 minutes from Jackson Park in downtown Atchison. They have both food and drinks. Whether I'm going or not, consider stopping by and directly patronizing our sponsors.
If you are staying in Atchison Friday or Saturday night, there is camping at Warnock Lake, just west of Tee #10. $5/per tent per night (in tent area) or $10/night for campers, RVs. 16 sites with 20A, 30A and 50A connections. No sites have water or sewer hookups. No reservations are taken.
If you stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast (sorry, AirBnB don't count) and turn in your receipt at the tournament, you'll be entered into a free raffle for an Innova Adventure Pack golf bag ($40 value). If the receipt says for 2 nights, you'll get 2 raffle tickets.
Finally, I would like to personally and deeply thank Brandon Tackett and Damon Morgan. These two guys have put in a ton of work into these courses and this event. They work closely with the city’s parks and recreation department for various course improvements and mowing. Damon has put in a lot of work clearing fairways and sightlines, and creating and installing course directional arrows. Brandon rounded up 2/3’s of the added cash for the pro divisions from local sponsors. Please thank them when you see them.
