Any amateur player that wants to play MPO is eligible for trophies. Per the PDGA rules, amateurs can either accept cash and give up their amateur status or decline it but we cant give any vouchers to AMs that play pro.

That is a sticking point about A-Tier and NT Tour events. I guess the PDGA doesn't want a watered down MPO field with ams playing and hoping to take vouchers. This makes them think twice about registering since they likely get nothing other than the joy of playing the event (and maybe cash if they play well enough). I believe you can throw the Gold course the week prior to the event so if you want to see the Gold layout that could be a good way.
