VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Forest Park is currently flooded and the water levels are still rising. The local river is not expected to get below flood stage until Friday if no additional rain occurs. However, rain is expected before Saturday, so it will likely not happen. If it did get low enough, the sod will be very muddy with the flood waters.
All competitors will be moved to Kanza Park for a modified 21 hole layout. Holes 5, 14 and 17 will be split into two making 21 holes total. For ease of scoring, everything will be a par 3, total par 63. The holes where I have modified tee pads in the past, such as 4, 6, 8, may have modified tee pads to accomodate the additional holes and avoid low areas, but all players will play the same layout to avoid any confusion and to help with flow. Unfortunately, this change is affecting the preparation for the tournament, so the final layout may not be available until the player meeting. Good news is everybody will hear about it at once. (I will try to get the info out Friday if there is time).
IMPORTANT: Normally this late in the week there would be a handling fee to withdraw. I will be waiving the handling fee if you wish to withdraw if your request is received no later then Noon, Thursday, May 2nd. After that the normal Refund Policy will apply.
I anticipate Kanza will be playable, but very soggy. I strongly suggest you bring 2 extra pairs of shoes and socks with you. One for second round and one to drive home in. Just a free pro tip.
If we get even more than expected rain prior to Friday afternoon, there is a small chance that the event will be postponed. I really do not want to do this because of the logistical nightmare that is.
If it is postponed, I will email as soon as the decision is made and post it on FB and discgolfscene pages.
