Please keep in mind this is a PDGA sanctioned event, so OBs will be in play on each course. Some OBs at Painesville will be slightly different, primarily where the park road is concerned. Anything on or over the road will be considered OB rather than the standard play there which allows play from over the road and not on concrete to be played as safe. Please see below for a full list of OBs for both courses, which will also be distributed at the event for each card during each round.
Sims Park OBs:
Hole 1 -- On or over path behind the basket
Hole 2 -- Lake Erie
Hole 10 -- Balconies of apartment building on right of fairway
Hole 11 -- Lakeshore Blvd.
Hole 15 -- Lakeshore Blvd.
Hole 16 -- Lakeshore Blvd.
Hole A -- Park driveway (on or over) and Lakeshore Blvd.
Hole B -- Park driveway (on or over) and flagged area behind basket (to prevent play from playground area)
Hole 18 -- Parking lot area
Painesville OBs
Hole 1 -- On or over park road
Hole 2 -- Parking Lot and playground areas
Hole 3 -- Skate Park area and on over path running behind basket
Hole 4 -- On or over path on left of fairway, parking lot area, and Grand River (surrounded by water)
Hole 5 -- Parking Lot
Hole 7 -- Over guardrail on left of fairway
Hole 8 -- On or over sidewalk on left of fairway
Hole 9 -- Basketball court
Hole 10 -- Deck Hockey Rink (inside fenced area)
Hole 11 -- On or over park road
Hole 12 -- On or over park road
Hole 13 -- Pavilion area on left of fairway
Hole 14 -- On or over park road, fenced off area behind service building, and roof of service building
Hole 15 -- On or over park road, roofs of service buildings, and pond
Hole 16 -- Pond (drop zone will be marked)
Hole 17 -- On or over park road
Hole 18 -- On or over park road and pond
This is to keep play safe and also not interfere with players on other holes and to not interfere with other parkgoers (playground areas, pavilion, etc.). Shots will be taken from where the OB plane was crossed with a one stroke penalty where applicable. For hole 16, if a disc lands in the pond, players will proceed to the marked drop zone with a one stroke penalty. For holes 14 and 15, if a disc lands on the roof of either service buildings, the next shot will be taken from behind the buildings using standard OB relief rules, with a one meter buffer from the building directly in line with the lie on the roof and the basket. This is unlikely, but still possible.
