Well we crossed over the 30 player mark and I keeping hearing during league rounds that several more expect to be bringing their Ace run discs. I know Jay is planning on bringing some chilly and that was enough for me to ensure I can be there and I know of at least two other pots of chilli. A few people asked about start time - A few of us will be taking the "next tee" signs Matt Schooley & Associates created for the temp tee pads and taking out the extra baskets starting about 8:30 but registration does not start until the Bikers take off on their Black Friday Bike Ride - so around 10:15 we will do registration in the lodge - quick players meeting at 11:15 and then the Ace extravaganza begins.
A few also asked why this is not a Discraft Ace Race - Well this came together very quickly at the end of Oct as an idea brought up by Ron Howard - to late to be part of the Discraft Ace Race and like many rag tag cooperative disc golf events you never know if it will get off the ground. Now with the cooperation of so many local clubs and dedicated players it has come together and with the support of Steve Waite and Rolling Hills County Park we have a great course and a great lodge for event central. This also took some coordination and cooperation with the local bike club as they have been using the lodge for their ride for several years. The hope is this will be the basis for an annual event which we can build on each year and plan for.
It also makes Rolling Hills a Disc Golf Thanksgiving event location with two other events at this location around the same time. First you can warm up for the Turkey day with the A3: "Corrigan Propane Winter Warmer Series - Second Event" this Sunday
