And people can also tank their rounds purposely to make sure they don't move up or get themselves to move down. His ability is above the recreational division and he knows it but would rather play the system and take wins from people who are more deserving of it than himself. But that's just my opinion

I played with Dave all last year in am3 and battled it out all season. At the end of last season he had some health issues and this year I know he’s been dealing with an injury. If people are complaining about baggers maybe they should turn their heads to the ones who play am1 and win every tournament but refuse to play open or ones who played open and got their amateur status back. In my opinion some people have higher ceilings than others, who’s to say dave will ever actually get any better? Maybe he’s at that ceiling.. also being a person like him who’s rating is based off of 47 rounds like myself I can personally tell you playing bad in a tournament or two isn’t enough to really change your rating.

You're right Will, I have, but that's only one good rated round out of 30+ this year. Plus on a "new" course, it should honestly be much closer to 960. Since you're looking at my one good round do you want me to point out all of my rounds that were in the 700s?

I'm just giving you my two cents, David. I moved up to Am 2 with a 867 rating, up to Am 1 with a 894 rating, and plan on moving up to Pro next year currently sitting at 928. Does everyone have the aspirations that I do? Absolutely not. I personally have never shot 1000, and just think that anyone who does so is well above the PDGA definition of Recreational players.

You're totally fine will, everyone can have their own opinions. I do not have the same aspirations that you do it seems. I enjoy playing and competing and that's about it, I know I'll never be pro or even Am1 and that's totally fine with me. Once again that's one round out of how many? 140-150?

Man I miss 2 short putts (1 of them being a pretty gnarly spit out) and now I'm throwing my rounds? Did I also throw 2 back to back shots OB within a foot of coming in on purpose? Or my upshot from there within a foot of OB? If I had that kind of deadly accuracy I would be playing pro!

Not wasting any of my time at all. I have fun playing in the division my skills tell me I should be in and not by some rating that can be fluctuated however that person wants it to be. You're losing your integrity by doing what you're doing. But have fun beating all them poor people that don't deserve what you're doing to them

And that's awesome Brad, I also have fun playing in the division my skills tell me I should be in, I'm sorry if you disagree with the division that is though. No integrity lost here, like they say, I'm just playing my rating.

Shawn, It’s true, I missed 4 putts inside the circle that round, it’s an easy course I just happened to play well. But my rating isn’t based off of 1 round, it’s based off of many (50 give or take). I’m not sure why everyone is so focused on that one round, how about you look at every round since then where I haven’t shot over 900, and am probably averaging closer to 850.

Lmao, not even close Brad, trust me I would love to be better and doing better in higher divisions, but that is not the case. “Trying to keep yourself in AM3” might be the stupidest thing I’ve heard.

Yes I still think it’s stupid Brad, I would prefer to play AM3 at the moment, but I’m not going to go out and waste my time and money purposefully playing badly just so I can play AM3 again. We’re you on my card first round? If so I had 2 stupid short missed putts, 1 bad grip lock OB, then 2 OB throws that we’re a foot away from coming back in. Besides that my round wasn’t bad, those 8 strokes right there were the difference between first and last card

What a great attitude David, throughout this thread. Kudos! My opinion, a person should be able to play any division they are eligibile for, this is just a game and wherever you will have the most fun is where you belong.
