As mentioned before- my son is waitlisted (number 1 on the list)-
If (big If because of the three hour drive) he does not get a spot prior to the event; if someone doesn't show up would he be able to slip into that opening the day of the event?

Certainly, more than likely someone won't show up during check-in, so he can take that spot. I also sent you a PM.

I would assume that of 72 people...a couple won't show.
