Dear Fling XXI Players,
The first game of the National League Championships will be held at Chavez Ravine on Oct 14th!
The Fling XXI will ALSO be at Elysian Park on Oct 14th - this coming Saturday! (3 cheers for Park Mgr Christina Osier and Albert Torres - the Park Ranger!)
We are a permitted event, so although the park will be closed that day for vehicular traffic, we will be able to bring our cars into the park in the morning.
Here are the details that PLAYERS NEED to get into the park for the Fling XXI.
- We plan to have that Solano gate manned from 7am to 8 am to allow our players entry (only use that gate - all other gates will be locked)
- No "in and out” access during the day - LAPD will have that Solano gate manned when we leave to allow us out

7:15 am Check in
8:15 am Players meeting
8:30 am 1st Round tee off
12:00 lunch and games
1:30 pm 2nd Round tee off
5:00 Awards!

After years of persistent effort by Mike Jewel, he and Cliff Towne were able to meet with LA County Parks and Recreation and they have approved the installation of a 9 hole course at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area on the west side of LA! Roch Bordenave ( [email redacted] or 561-951-9920 ) is keeping the list of volunteers and of Hole Sponsors (published up at discsports.org - $500/hole - we can take two names per hole at $250). We are working towards a November installation of the baskets.
