The format was changed by the T.D. from previous years. They used to allow certain percentages from a lot of tournaments. They now allow PDGA State Coordinators to pick 1 tournament in each state as the qualifier. He also decided that only certain "larger" tourneys will have more than 1 qualifier. Having to be a New York resident to win the USADGC spot has been something that the 7-8 New York clubs that sponsor States every year have agreed to for at least 10 years. There used to be a spot to the USDGC for the top finishing New York resident in the Open Div., too. Now, you have to qualify on tour to get to Rock Hill.
Eric Trippany Sep 19, 2017And yes, we do still pay for the entry fee and some of the cost of travel.
Eric Trippany Sep 28, 2017Sorry, Eric! Top 35% of MA1 qualify for the USADGC tournament next June, 2018. The top finishing New York resident in the MA1 division gets their entry fee paid and some travel expenses covered.
