Joe, I am not involved in the other situation and, frankly, do not know the details of those comments on this page, but myself and a group of 15-20 friends have played the last 3 years and planned on playing the Ira Ace Race; we really want to see it successful like it was growing toward a few years ago. Unfortunately, we have been hesitant to sign up because it seems like this event is not being run efficiently or with great enthusiasm. Registration closes next week and 3 participants, zero posts or advertising or sponsorship updates since one post in mid July, etc. I have messaged you privately, the event page, and the Facebook page twice asking if you would like some help setting up baskets, making signs for advertising at the course to drum up support, or if you could use extra Sponsorship help since we have connections at a couple of companies and breweries willing to help. So far I've gotten zero responses.
What do we need to do to rebuild this event? Are you optimistic that this event still runs? Realistically there are 4 days to turn it around. Right now the only interactions with any of the DG community is negative with these pages- which is the exact opposite of what an Ace Race should be. If another Ace Race happens nearby because there is nothing positive or active taking place to gain support with Ira, it only kills the Ira event and I'd hate to see that.
