Hey there! Glad to have you for your first event. 1) That's tough. You are probably right on that borderline. I think it's okay for you to go into "Beginner" being your first event. The prizes are a bit smaller in that division as well. You can always talk to people the day of and pick your division when you get here. 2) pictures are great. I walk around taking pictures as well. The only thing to help is to keep the shutter sound as quiet as possible and not to click in mid throw of competitors if the camera makes noise. 3) We are very casual in the circuits and are all about giving out as many prizes as possible and having a good time. So, we will card people with their friends. I'll send you an email before the tourney with details and to get your requested cards.
