With the ticks as bad as they seem to be this year long grass is a real concern as well as the fact it gets in the way of throwing skip shots and rollers. No park with a $10 gate fee should have unmowed fairways

Despite my sarcasm, my point was that disc golf is generally the last concern of any of our parks departments. We may not think that is fair, but I believe it to be a sound assessment. If you are spending money to go to a park, and are dissatisfied with the services, I suggest a nice letter or email to the park officials. Putting the responsibility on the volunteer tournament staff seems to be misplaced. Sorry for the sarcasm.

Was not putting responsibility on the tournament staff, was putting it on the park that costs $10 a day to enter. Was simply asking the tournament staff if they were aware of if it was happening or not.

Bill, I agree that in most of the local park systems, disc golf is likely a very solid revenue generation endevour. I just have not seen the parks interest in putting that money back into the courses. They certainly have to maintain and upkeep the courses, and we are pretty spoiled around here with parks like the MetroParks, Rolling Hills and Indy. But, all those parks take considerable disc golf revenue and apply the funds to a myriad of other park activities. Really, I think the TD and staff for this tournament have taken considerable heat on this public forums. I think that PM's or email to the appropriate persons or entities would be more appropriate. The tournament staff put in a ton of work, unpaid and I honestly feel a bit for them. You are entitled to your opinion, but I personally would let me decision to play or not play, for whatever reasons, remain my own. If I were truely unhappy about the way the staff was running the event, the venue upkeep, payouts, park entry fees.....I would simply not play or voice my opinion personally. Again, I want to apologize for the smart alex remark, that too is not the way to express my concern.

Steve, without sounding rude. Why not take your own advice and keep your opinions to yourself? This is the second time I have seen you comment on a legitimate question that some has asked the TD and in both instances you were critical of the other person and assumed they were being critical of the TD which in neither circumstance were they. People that are considering playing the event are entitled to voice their questions however they wish and Jessica and John will respond when able. I think you are trying to help but the way it looks your efforts are having the opposite effect.

I would just contact the park office directly and inform them that a tournament is coming up. Politely and respectfully ask them to attend to areas of need. Youd be suprised what gets done when you approach something with a positive and rational attitude

My league played there last night and the fairways looked good. I think they made an attempt to get a quick cut in before the tournament. Thank you Jessica for reaching out to the park and getting the ball rolling on this!!
