I did receive the email yesterday, 2 days before I leave for the tournament. So here's the way I see it. I take a day of vacation, I pay for a tournament, and I commit to drive to Peoria to play. The tournament advertises I'll be competing against 53 other players, for the chance to qualify for another tournament. Registration doesn't live up to the hype, so we're told the tournament field is going to be cut in half. I've never heard of this before. I've played in many, many tournaments that didn't fill completely, and never once did the TD make any decision like this. This concept behind this series is awesome, the execution is horrible. Mathmatically speaking, you are correct the odds are the same, but in reality getting 6 good players for the same tournament, is a whole lot easier than getting 12 good players.
