Big changes tonight! We ran with the A/B divisions for a few weeks, but it seems that the B-Pool was significantly larger than the A-Pool.
So, we will be trying handicaps for the last three weeks!
I have analyzed the data for this season and determined that a putting percentage of 70% will be considered "scratch". Handicaps will be calculated based on a player's average putting percentage for the season. That average will be subtracted from 70 and then multiplied by 85% to get their handicap.
Example: Player averages 54% for the season.
70-54=16 -> 16*0.85= 13.6 -> Player handicap is 14.
Handicaps cannot be lower than 0!
This format is similar to the Thursday Night Handicap League, except we will be using running averages, not the last 3 weeks played. This will allow the entire field to compete fairly against each other and give more people a chance to win some $$$!
