So in week 6 of our 14 week series we have 185 players who have played participating league rounds and we have awarded 8,802 points to players for their achievements so far.

I like to take a look at the top ten players on the Overall Leaderboard. Note there is a "LEAGUE LEADERS · DGLA MEMBERS" leaderboard for those who paid in their $30 and who are competing for State Championship Berth and other awards based on their standing amongst only the other players on that leaderboard. Thanks for supporting the cause guys and good luck.

Now everyone who plays participating league rounds show up on the Overall Leaderboard and all for Free. Nice way to keep us all connected and see what leagues and players are doing throughout the State thanks to the magic programming of Pete at Disc Golf Scene and Congrats Pete on your PDGA gig. Love what you do for the sport!!! THANKS!!!

OK 185 players on the overall leaderboard currently at week 6, so 12 counted rounds is the max # of rounds anyone could achieve. You can always play more rounds but only your highest two rounds per week are counted and any others are "DROPPED". One way we try and make the MiCPS as fair to all players as possible. I won't go over the point calculation details but you can review them in the About page Summary of the Point Series.

In general you want as many points per round as possible and to play as many rounds as possible. The first thing I look at is who has the highest Average Points per Round. It's always nice to win a league round like Mark Grisa did
at 12:00 SATURDAY DUBS Fall 2016, Dec 3rd for 22 points and he hit an Ace that round at Willow Metropark, Hole 3 for an additional 25 Points - making that round worth 47 points and since that is his only round so far he is the current "highest Average Points per Round" leader with only one round. That has him at 62, not bad for just one round. Nice Round Mark. Just think if he had more rounds in.......

Now who can keep their average Points per Round high over several rounds? Well with more than 3 rounds our leaders in this category are:

Leaderboard Position Player Pts Rnds Avg Pts per Rnd

7 Ben Calhoun 167 6 27.83333333
4 Phil "Puttimus Prime" Common 182 7 26
16 Nate Wheeling 129 5 25.8

Not surprising that they are high on the leaderboard with consistently high Pts per Round averages. So what all does it take currently to be in the Top 10 of the 185 players???

Top Ten - Stats Averages:

102 points separate 1st from the tie at 9th place currently.

You would need a min of 148 total points to be amongst the top 10.
But the average points is 181.7
The top Ten have played an average of 9 rounds so far with a 20.652 average Pts per Round.
On average they have won 2.5 of those rounds
An average of 0.1 Aces - OK only Ben Calhoun has an Ace so far out of the top 10.
They have played 2 Double points rounds on average, Snow or {{{Cold}}} or BOTH ;-)

Here are the cold hard facts of the Top 10 currently

Leaderboard Position Player Points Total Rounds Avg Pts per Rnd Wins Aces # of Double PTs. Rnds
1 Scottie Reslock 250 11 22.72727273 4 0 3
2 Danny Fifer 210 9 23.33333333 5 0 2
3 Frame o 194 9 21.55555556 1 0 4
4 Phil "Puttimus Prime" Common 182 7 26 2 0 3
5 Craig Clingan 179 9 19.88888889 6 0 0
6 Dave Connors 177 11 16.09090909 1 0 0
7 Ben Calhoun 167 6 27.83333333 3 1 1
8 Joe Phipps 162 10 16.2 1 0 3
9 Brian Hyzertron Crouch 148 9 16.44444444 1 0 2
9 Scott Sprow 148 9 16.44444444 1 0 2

Well played so far gentlemen. We are about at the half way point. Feb 25th will be here before you know it and then Spring Disc Golf will begin to bud until we start the Summer series on April 9th.

11 Jerry "Chilly" Chilson 135 6 22.5
12 John "NACHO" Norkowski 134 7 19.14285714
12 Tim Gacioch 134 7 19.14285714
14 Pat Burke 132 6 22
15 Rooster Robb DeHaan 130 6 21.66666667
16 Nate Wheeling 129 5 25.8
17 Jay B 128 10 12.8
18 Jason Jopps 124 7 17.71428571
19 Brad Levendosky 120 6 20
20 Mitchell Winters 116 7 16.57142857

So who is poised to jump up into the top 10 - anyone - get out and play more great Michigan Disc Golf league rounds and control your destiny and claim your spot at the top of the Michigan Cooperative Point Series leaderboard.

DGLA would also like to thanks the League and Club staff who bring us great Michigan Disc Golf Leagues week after week. Thanks to those to help out - it really does make a difference - every little bit - great cooperative effort. This time of year a big Shout Out (CHAAA!!!) to those hardy souls who clear the pads for those who follow in their boot tracks - THANKS!!!

Peace and Enjoy the Winter Rounds
