In summary, If my handicap is a -3.6 and I shoot a true -4, then my adjusted score would be -0.4. So if I shoot better than my handicap my score would become worse..and..if I shoot worse than my handicap was score would become better. Do you see my point?

If someone has a -3.6 handicap these would be there handicap scores (and true scores): +2.6 (54); +1.6 (53); +0.6 (52); -0.4 (51); -1.4 (50); -2.4 (49); -3.4 (48); -4.4 (47); -5.4 (46); and -6.4 (45). Tim Kopacz was correct by stating handicap bring all players closer to par, however by using this example you can see how difficult it becomes for advanced player to shave strokes and have an excellent handicap-corrected score; you would have to shoot a -10 to have a -6 corrected score. This surmises my learning debate: should your formula remain unchanged, or should you add a factor to address the (my) perceived difficulty of advanced players shooting better under-par scores versus novice players shooting better above-par scores? ....Is it easier for novice players to play better? ...or is it easier for advanced players to get better? ...that is the ultimate question... :)
