I just registered for the waitlist. In the about section it states, "The determination to accept more than 52 amateurs will be made near the end of day of registration." Knowing that I have a spot before I make the trip to Wayland is not possible if the intent is to give pros an opportunity to fill the last of the 20 reserved spots on the "day-of" the event. I also see that the deadline for prepay registrations is 12:01am July 30 (also the day of the event). If it is confirmed that just before 9am on July 30 will waitlist people know that there is an additional amateur spot, I will make other plans for that day. My bad for reading the details too late.
